Cooperation between Turkey and the USA continues within the scope of EU Programmes.
Apart from this, bilateral projects in various thematic fields are supported within the context of two separate protocols on Scientific and Technological Cooperation signed between TUBITAK and the National Science Foundation-NSF on 17 June 1996, and the National Institutes of Health-NIH on 25 April 2013, respectively.
About USA-H2020 Cooperation
In order to enhance the integration of US researchers to H2020 projects, an agreement between the United States and the European Commission has been signed on October 17, 2016.
The agreement, called "Implementing Arrangement", facilitates cooperation between US organizations and Horizon 2020 participants in cases where the US researchers who are are funded by the US and do not receive any funding from the Horizon 2020 programme. It simplifies cooperation between a selected Horizon 2020 project and a US entity by enabling researchers to organize their cooperation outside the formal Horizon 2020 Grant Agreement signed for each project, in accordance with applicable laws, rules, policies, and regulations of their respective funding programmes.
