ETP4HPC is an industry-led think-tank comprising of European HPC technology stakeholders: technology vendors, research centres and end-users.
European Technology Platform for High Performance Computing Vision
European Technology Platform for High Performance Computing Mission
The main objective of ETP4HPC is to define research priorities and action plans in the area of HPC technology provision (i.e. the provision of supercomputing systems).
Who can join European Technology Platform for High Performance Computing?
Membership to ETP4HPC falls into following categories:
- Technology providers (i.e. manufactirers of HPC /supercomputing/ technology)
- Independent Software Vendors facing the multi-core/new architectures disruption
- End-users looking for advanced technological HPC systems
- Research centres performing HPC technology research
- Computing centres working on HPC technology or innovative HPC system operation
Scientists use HPC to build models of complex phenomena. They require fast supercomputers in order to resolve problems in the area of Life Sciences, Physics, Climate research, Engineering and many others. Some of the scientific problems remain unresolved because the computing speed required is still unavailable.

European Technology Platform for High Performance Computing Roadmap Elements
The ETP4HPC Strategic Research Agenda (SRA) outlines a roadmap for the achievement of exa-scale capabilities by the European High-Performance Computing (HPC) ecosystem. The milestones set in the SRA are used to define the contents of the HPC Technology R&D Work Programmes managed by the European Commission.
