An on-line Information Multipliers Training on European Green Deal was orchestrated by TUBITAK on August 20, 2020, with more than 100 attendees, under the “Turkey in Horizon 2020 Phase II” Technical Assistance Project which is co-financed by the European Union and the Republic of Turkey and implemented by the Republic of Turkey Ministry of Industry and Technology within the scope of Competitive Sectors of Programme.

The opening speech was given by Mr. Çağrı Yıldırım, Operation Coordination Unit TÜBİTAK. Mr. Yıldırım introduced himself and mentioned the significance of the Green Deal to Turkish stakeholders. At the end of his speech, Mr. Çağrı Yıldırım informed participants to further Green Deal events and urged them to participate.

Dr Aleksander Bakowski, Team Leader of the Turkey in Horizon 2020 Phase II Project, as taking the floor after Mr. Yıldırım, presented a brief overview of Turkey in Horizon 2020 Phase II Project by mentioning the upcoming events of the subjected Project. Dr Bakowski touched upon the IMS Platform and encouraged participants to share successful stories with the team.

Mr. Grigoris Chatzikostas, the H2020 Training Coordinator, started his thematic training after Dr Bakowski, by contributing brief information concerning the European Climate Law and the sense of Green Deal in the global sphere. During the beginning of his session, Mr. Chatzikostas covered each of the European Green Deal areas. After the informative part of his presentation, Mr. Chatzikostas also conducted a Q&A session for participants to have interactive on-line training.

Also, a session dedicated to Experiences from Turkish participants in projects similar to Green Deal were held to share the experiences with the rest of the participants by Mr Can Demir from TUPRAŞ, Dr Mustafa Yücel from Middle East Technical University, and Mr Ömer Akyürek and Ms Beril Alpagut from DemirEnerji.

Participants were encouraged to ask any question they wish to be answered in the Q&A chat box, and the participants' questions were answered during the Q&A session.
