EMBO Installation Grants
Scientists, planning to build a career in molecular biology based life sciences in Turkey can apply EMBO Installation Grant (IG) and establish their independent laboratories in Turkey.
The successful applicants are supported by 50,000 Euro per year, for up to five years after subjected to a review by EMBO in the third year of the grant. The Installation Grantees are integrated to the EMBO Young Investigator network in order to get the benefits similar to those of the EMBO Young Investigator Program.
In order to apply the IG program, the applicant must have excellent record on publication. Moreover, by the date of application, the applicant must be negotiating a full-time position at an institute/ university in Turkey, or must have established a laboratory in Turkey in the last two years (counted from 1 Jan in year of application). Additionally, the applicant must have spent at least two consecutive years outside Turkey in the four years prior to application.
The successful applicants already established a laboratory in Turkey, can start to use the grant starting from 1 January in the year following application. The ones, who have not yet started their new position in Turkey, must take-up the position and start the grant by 31 December in the following year of application.

EMBO Long-Term Fellowships
EMBO Long-Term awardees receive funding up to two years and obtain the opportunity to make research in the laboratories all around Europe and the world.
International exchange is the key principle of this fellowship program.
Applicants must have a doctorate degree or equivalent at the start of the fellowship. Moreover, the applicants holding a PhD degree at the time of application are eligible, only if they have passed their PhD exam in the two years prior to the date of the application. Also, they must have at least one first author publication accepted or published in an international peer reviewed journal at the time of application.
Applications to go to the country in which the PhD was obtained will not be considered. All applications should include mobility between countries.
The minimum duration of the fellowship can be 12 months. The stipend given during the fellowship covers the costs of living in the host country. The rate of the stipend depends on the country being visited and might be subject to taxation.
There is no deadline for applying to the program, but there are two annual evaluation deadlines: Second Friday of February and second Friday of August.
