Scientific Outputs

Eleven international patent applications were filed covering areas such as new optical approaches, image creator, system architecture and computational algorithms.

Tackling ‘grand’ or societal challenges

Industrial Innovation (including innovation in services as well as products and processes)

Smart glasses designed for increased reality are expected to replace smartphones. The available smart glasses are able to display a limited image with a narrow view angle. Another important constraint is that the current 3-D image displays lead to headaches, nausea, etc. as the distance between the focus of the eye and the distance of the view is different. The Wear3D project seeks to overcome these limitations in wearable screens and 3D imaging technologies by developing unique optical approaches.

Research-influenced changes in policy, agenda-setting

The provision of Improved Public Goods

The improved exercise of professional skill

Human capital development

Within the scope of the Optical Mems Laboratory carried out by Prof. Dr. Hakan ÜREY at Koç University, a team of 23 people consisting of researchers, doctorate, master and undergraduate students are working. One third of this team is working under ERC project.
